2023 SS COLLECTIONレンブラントがおどけた表情でどこか挑発的にこちらを見つめるセルフポートレイト。現代のセルフィー・自撮りの先駆けともいうべき自画像。レンブラントは、この自画像を主観的な視点から描いたのでしょうか?それとも客観的な視点で自己を描いたのでしょうか?

トップスやスウェットシャツに、ハンドルバー、スケートボード、ドアのヒンジ、そしてグローブなどがあてがわれています。その理由は?——それを感じ、判断するのも、あなたです。そもそもそこに理由などないのかもしれません。絵画をふちどって作品の世界観を完結させる額——今コレクションで衝突の世界観をふちどる額の役割を果たしているのは、ベーシックを極めたシェイプ。T シャツ、バミューダショーツ、ドレス、デニムジャケット、5ポケットパンツ、ボマージャケット、テーラードのダブルブレストブレザー、タンクトップ、パーカなどに、絶対的なまでにベーシックなシェイプが追求されています。
そこに、スリットから覗くバーコードや破れたニットなど、未完成のようにも見えるディテールの「衝突」が起こることで、客観の視点が挑発的な主観の視点へと昇華され、さまざまなディテールと厚底のソールを配したシューズやカラフルなバッグが世界観をまとめ上げています。
