The autograph reads: "Carolyn， Thanks for the big hug and welcome to Baltimore. Be strong and positive in your life because 'If it ain't one thing， it's another.' Love， Dimples 3/25/82." Richard "Dimples" Fields was an American R&B and soul singer born on March 21， 1941， in New Orleans， Louisiana. He began his music career in the 1960s as a member of various groups， including The Five Diamonds and The Emeralds. In the 1970s， he released his first solo album titled "Dimples" which spawned the hit single "If It Ain't One Thing， It's Another." The song reached #1 on the Billboard R&B chart and became a classic in the R&B and soul genres. Fields continued to release albums throughout the 1980s and 1990s， including "Give Everybody Some" and "Taking Applications." He also made numerous television appearances， including performances on "Soul Train" and "The Midnight Special."
